At 35 miles per hour the transmission is starting to "hunt" for gears. Shifting up and down. I run with the transmission out of over-drive until am above 45 MPH.

Am I starting to have problems are is this normal for the Dodge transmission.

Thanks,

Lee

It sounds like you have the same problem I had with my 99. My transmission was hunting in & out of overdrive at @ 40 MPH it turned out to be a defective ECM which was covered under the 8 year or 80,000 mile EPA emissions law. It took almost 3 months to find in the end. I had to take my truck back to the dealer 5 times before they agreed that the ECM was the problem. All I can say is hang in and let the dealer do what he has to do to find the problem. You can get so good information on the DTT transmission web site on this type of problem. Best of luck.

Check all you can first!

My dad's 98 was doing this very badly, 2nd to 3rd 3rd to OD all the time. He got to looking around one day and the connection in the ground cable on the accessory battery was coming apart on its own. He pushed it back together and it shifts like new. Not saying this is the problem but still check all you can before going to the dealer and spend money when you can find and fix problems on your own. Just my $. 02
