hi now i have some parts in the mail

100hp injectors

lifpump 150gph

cp3 uppgrade

but my transmission wont take this

with all my mods i should be around 650-700hp on crank

i know i will get over 500rwhp before i had 429rwhp

so my question is about trannys and torque converters

singel vs triple lock?

read that singellock will feel more solid

and lock up faster true?

but the best singel go just up to 600hp?

experince and recomendations please?

or can i modify my stock converter or put a sonax cover on the converter?

read somthing about that but didnt get it.

then what to do about inside of transmission where to order upgrade and what is good

red alto ive read good about

and maby new vavlebody? what do i need to change will do it myself i think

ive played around with old gm transmissions before.

is to put the bar to hig if i want it to take 1000hp at crank?

or what do i need to do if i just going fopr 800?

i dont want to outgrow my transmission again.

what is diffrence between trannys

race/drag

daily driver

pulling transmission

what takes them apart? stall speed ? please explane

i want somthing i can use daily put also race alittle

i dont tow

Big question - what do you intend to do with the truck and how are you going to drive it? That will determine how much you are going to spend.

Keep in mind once you hit 700-800 HP even a $6k trans is not gonna take all the Cummins will throw at it. If you race\pull you will be into the trans once a year or more staying ahead of the problems.

That said, you can do a 800 HP Dyno on Saturday and drive it all week on slightly modded trans if you turn the power down and drive moderately. Its all relative to how far you turn the power knob and how your right foot works. ;)

I agree with cerberusiam... ... if you want/need that kind of power, you will be in the transmission shop at least annually. It all depends on your right foot though. Look how big a class 8 truck transmission is in comparison with 600hp and you soon see that any transmission bolted behind a modded Cummins will not last. My old ATS lasted only over a year and my current Goerend is almost 2 yrs old. Although my driving style changed significantly... ..... believe me, unless you are filthy rich or have a don't care attitude, $6k trannys will make you think long and hard 1st before racing that unsuspecting Mustang again. Just sayin!!

I have had good luck with my Goerend... ... ... I have the triple-disc TC. I had mine set-up for towing heavy as I tow a 40' toyhauler frequently. No problems at all but I only gross about 23k fully loaded as compared to some hotshotters that exceed 30k plus. Get a good TC and more importantly, get a lock-up controller. That controller locks your convertor at speeds as low as 25mph. When your TC is locked, your transmission will be many times more reliable due to heat reduction.

please explane about lockup controller to. . what does it do. how does it work. what powerrange is safe to be in? for the engine and trans if i dont want to break everything. . i dont really need power but whenever somthing broke down i just put in bigger parts. . kits like a evil circle. and i use the truck to get to work onlything i really load on the truck is like 5 people. but if i want to be safe and rebuild my transmission what is the most daily power to use? what would happen if it always was in lockup? is it psoble to make my own lockup switch? feel it would be good to lock it when driving on slipery roads ice

What year of truck and its configuration? That would help a bit.

If you have a 3rd gen you really don't need a lockup controller unless it is for an exhaust brake. A good tight TC and the normal 3rd gen lockup strategy is pretty good. That will vary with year of truck hence my question around that.

On icy roads your better off not locked up and just using fluid coupling, less chance of a spin out.

A manual switch works well for towing and racing, not really good for daily use.

As installed in your truck 400-450 HP is all you can use continuously and reliably. Its fun to trun everything up and Dyno a big number but unless your racing\pulling yu can't run it all the time.

ist a 3g dodge ram from 2005 normaly i keep my smarty on sw3 or 5 when i want to play abit but now everything will get bigger with my upgrades. want damage can i do if i always have it locked?

is it posible to make that switch by my self??

im thinking 400 is good daily but i still want to turn it up maby atend in some race sometimes a year.

flux2 100hp injectors

fass 150gph

htb2 12/62 turbo

smarty pod

modded airbox

cp3 upgrade

Damage is going to be to your vehicle form spinning out on icy roads if your not careful. Best to let the factory program handle it in that situation.

Otherwise, the 05's have a good lockup strategy especially in TH unless your using an exhaust brake then they need more. For daily driving unless you mod the VB correctly activating lockup will stack shift the trans into OD at any speed, not the best thing.

For racing its good, lauch the truck then flip it on and hold on. They are HARD on input shafts just like a triple disk. With enough power its hard the intermediate and output shaft also doing locked to locked shifts.
