transmission Questions

I know you can convert a 5sp to a 6sp. My question is, can you do it in a 95 Chevy 3/4HD 454 4x4? I'm asking for a friend who has one. He has an NV4500 and was curious to know if the same conversion kit would work on his truck or if one even exists and if so, how much and who do I contact? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
