transmission questions

91.5 d 250 518 auto. It seems to get hung in 1st then when it does shift it will do the same thing in 2nd. The more throttle you give it the worse it is. If you don't let off it seems to shift back and forth. I'm talking mild throttle, the more weight the more it does it. Can't tell if it slips. But 3rd and up seem to be good. Truck is stock. Adjust your TV cable and see if that help's

It was working good at 1/8 gap. When it started shifting funny I moved to 3/8 then to no gap at all. None of the adjustments made a difference so I put it back
To 1/8 gap. I am afraid the problem is inside the transmission. Am driving 2011 until I figure something out . Worst part is its 23 degrees and ice outside!!! That's not supposed to be this cold in west Texas!!!! Thanks again, hope you have a great new year.

Can't feel Gear separation when shifting gears. Could something the matter with the shift valves?

Dropped the pan and found 5/16" ball bearing,some metal on magnet,sludge in pan and small amount of either clutch or band material.

Ball could be from shift detent lever.

It was from the detent lever. I put it back and took the slack out of the shaft. Now it drives ok if you baby it. but if you drive itnormally it seems to revup when you give it gas instead of going. Guess it's time for a overhaul.
