OK - I understand Steve's rule regarding ATS & DTT AND this isn't a question regarding them directly it is one about logistics. Here's my problem. I live about 400 miles from Abbortsford and 1200 to Denver. NEITHER is in my ownbackyard, so how does one get help with a problem if you can't drive back to where the unit was fixed. I would take the rig to the original place for the initial fix - BUT do either of these shops have more "Local" options for any minor problems?

I guess that's one of the "risks" you take when having specialty transmission work done. I'm sure these folks would love to have shops all over the country - maybe with time. First of all you have to trust their work and hope you don't have problems. If you do, get on the phone immediately and talk to 'em - you'll find that these people stand behind their work and will do what they can to get it squared away. My rebuilder isn't in my backyard either, but I know they'd bend over backward to help out - they already have for me. You have to look on the bright side of things - at least you're not going to have that same "piece of toast" stock transmission. Talk to guys who've had their transmission's rebuilt, they'll tell ya they're glad they did! :D :D :D

Hammersley - You might talk to John at Clark County transmisson in Hazeldell. About 119th. st and Hwy. 99. I've had good luck with them. Larry

Hammersley,

I can only speak for DTT of course but our installers come in to head office for one on one transmission re-build training with Bill. They are qualified to rebuild on site across North America to our specs. Rip is someone Bill uses for full transmission installs in the Portland area and he is qualified to do all the pressure testing and can also do valve body adjustments ect. While he did come up for re-build training he chose to install full units because of the time and equiptment involved . If Bill does not have a DTT installer in the area he does work directly with ATRA builders nation wide which we cordinate for the customer from head office. If an issue should arise, head office and the DTT dealer network can work together to offer assistance.

I am one of the satisfied customers who had a local trans shop put in a dealers parts. I can't speak for any other supplier but DTT worked with my shop and now I have a great transmission.

I stopped at ATS for a visit in Sept, and there was a BIG map of the USA & Canada on the wall with Hundreds of little colored pins stuck in it. Each pin represented a Trans shop they use for re-builds.

I'd call Clint and ask if they have somebody near you. Their number is 800-949-6002
