Can there be a "tune" in my truck

That's a good idea. The clunks don't always happen, so listening might be a problem.

For sag2, yes they replaced both filters. They recommend "Jasper" transmissions. 3 year/100,000 mile parts and labor warantee. Anybody know about them?

Again, thanks for everybody's input!!

I don’t have much experience with jasper but I think there are better options especially with what they are pricing you at. I am sure you will get plenty of opinions on which way to go. I agree with others though don’t condemn the trans yet they are reliable.

I understand, thanks. My wife and I make a 4 month trip every winter to TX to see our kids. We are in our 80s so the idea of having a failed transmission somewhere between Ft. Stockton and Junction, TX (for example) is a bit intimidating. So, everybody, please keep the comments and ideas coming, they are helpful!

Last year, after a serious bout with "Gout", I decide to have my beloved NV5600 6 speed manual replaced with an automatic. I went to CA Conversions in Gulf Breeze, Florida and had an Allison 6 speed unit installed. What a difference, especially at highway speeds! Still have the NV5600 (160,000 miles when removed) complete with "Fast Coolers" on a pallet if anyone is interested. You pay the freight.

Thanks, I think I'll pass on your offer.

Thanks to all for your helpful suggestions. I decided I did not want to invest significant dollars into a 9 year old truck. So I traded the truck in on a new 2018 2500 Laramie. The dealer could not have cared less about the 2010 transmission. Now I have a new problem but will start a new thread if my TDR forum searches are unsuccesful. Cheers!
