Last weekend I moved my transmission sensor from the front port on transmission to the cooler line---------I flared and installed------now it doesnt move. I thought this was the best place for the sensor for temp reading's? I did get as hot as 130* in the other location--------I'm just wondering if these go bad, mine is only a couple months old

Just a guess, but maybe you need to ground the body of the sender for it to work correctly, this is not neccisary when it is installed directly in the transmission.

Wouldnt the sender be grounded where it is---------i mean the line is connected to the cooler and the transmission

JIM

May not be a good ground. you would think it would work. . I know when my sender was in the port on the MagHytec pan I had to provide a separate ground for it to work.

So what would you do for a seperate ground----------just use some sort of connecter to the sending unit and take that to the frame or a good ground

JIM

I would use a very small hose clamp to clamp around the body of the probe with a wire and then just run the wire to the frame to an existing bolt.
