Called the dealer today to find out how much it would cost to have them service my transmission. The service guy said over the phone that it would be in the ballpark of 250 dollars. I then called them back and asked for parts. I got the breakdown: roughly $15 for the filter, $11 for the gasket, and $30 for 5 quarts of transmission fluid. Thats about 56 dollars. Do they really charge 190+ for labor on this? Anyone have this done recently? Thanks,

Derek B.

If you can get a dealer in Calif to do this for under $200 let me know. Most dealerships here are well over $100/hr for service. Do it yourself and you will save close to the $190 you see for labor. It isn't hard to do, but the first time slow is the word, don't forget to do the band adjustments.

Fuel at $2. 39, what a ripoff!!!

Had mine done last week. Labor cost was $40. That included draining the DTT converter for a complete fluid change, but I don't live in CA.

I have same requests for adjusting bands. . please point in direction that this can be learned... i have a 2000 with auto and 4. 10 gears if that makes any difference.
