Transmission Shift Kits

I have a little hot smell from my transmission when I pull my 8000lb trailer up a long hill. I changed the filter and changed the fluid and it seem to not have the problem but I was told to find a shift kit to add something to the valve body of the transmission. Does anyone have any suggestions which make of shift kit? Do I go to the dealer or to a transmission shop or would NAPA or Schucks have something. Please let me know what some of you folks have done. 2003 5. 9 4 X 4 crew. Just started to use a Bully Dog pup. Have a quadzilla chip and a Bully Dog monitor on the way? What do you suggest? Remember I live in Alaska lots of hills and lots of snow! Oo. :-laf
