Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Transmission shifting problem

My trans. makes is a grinding noise when I am in park and go to drive or reverse. And when I drive it when it shifts from 2nd to first it makes the noise sounds like the gears are chattering a little other then that it shifts from 2nd to 3rd and overdrive fine lockup works ok to. I talked to tim with tre diesel performance and asked him what I could check said start with the bands adjustment new fluid said it could be the governor solenoid.



Any thoughts on what I can check.
