Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) transmission shifting wierd

the other morning on the way to work my transmission shifted from first to second and then back to first again it hasnt done that shift pattern since then . i recently put a hyper tech tuner on my truck and it gave me a hole long list of codes they are p1693 p0122 p1740 p0460 p 1740 p0122 . i do not know if this could have something to with the way the transmission shifts any ideas ? p1693 means dtc in ECM or PCM P0122tps sesor voltage too low p 1740 TCC OR OD solenoid performance ??

The codes all suggest that you have a transmission shifting problem like you experienced. The cause? Can't say. Maybe someone else will chime in.

My 99 does the same thing. Worse when cold or light throttle. It was really bad but I put a DTT noise filter on and that helped. I think I will try and reset the APPS and that may do it.



So to answer your question... try searching the forumn search feature for an APPS reset procedure and try that.

just replaced transducer govener psi solenoid and tcc od solenoid and still throwing p1740 ? tcc od solenoid preformance i have adjusted the kick down cable and it seems to help a little then the problem comes rite back as soon as i think its gone. trny is shiffting 1st to 2nd and bak under lite throttle works fine under heavy throttle.
