I'm running Amsoil 5w30 synco mesh stuff for the past maybe 20,000 miles now. This problem creaped up when I dropped in the ConFE. Curious. when the transmission is cold, it's a little grabby, mainly when it's 10 below out. :). It's 50 out now. Shifts fine, smooth, firm. just right IMHO. But once things get warmed up. Once I start to play around and stress things, things are more difficult to shift, things just feel much different.

Think I need a fluid change? Maybe since the ConFE is heavier and stressing the synco's more I should revert back to a thicker transmission oil?

EDIT:

Ya know. looking at my notes: it is time to replace the entire drive lines fluids. both diff, t-case and transmission. it really has been 20,000 miles. I think I"ll stick with amsoil in everything. If it's still goofy, RedLine stuff I'll try out.

Since my Dodge is new and not at the point of changing those fluids I cannot give you first hand advice regarding the Dodge stuff. However, I can tell you that in all my other cars and trucks I DID switch to the Red Line products and I am extremely satisfied with them. When the time comes for my Dodge it will get them. I am also planning on installing the aftermarket cooler available for my transmission and the differential covers at the same time - they will allow for more fluids which is always better in lubrication aspects.
