transmission shop in Long Beach, CA

Wonderful first day in long beach, transmission is slipping so bad I cant even drive it. Any recommendations?

I have heard in the past that Bellflower Transmission does aftermarket transmission work on our Dodges. I just tried to call them to verify but they are closed today (Monday) and will be open tomorrow if you would like to try them. (562) 867-5240. I hope they are the place a friend mentioned to me a couple years ago. They are just north of Long Beach by a couple of miles. Also Glen Thomas Dodge of long Beach has an excellent diesel mechanic working there but dont know if they do upgrades or not. Their number is (562) 426-5111.

Closed until sept. 4th. Dang, any other ideas? Not too excited about the dealership but it would be a worst case scenario I suppose . . .

Ok. . Made some calls. . Was referred to Malone Truck Parts & Service in Norwalk which is about 10 miles NNE of Long Beach. Their number is 562-924-2114. Ask for "Tom". I dont know them at all but they say they work on Dodge Diesels is all I know. . Worth a try. .

Again i cant say how good they are, etc... Just that if you dont like them I would go to Glen Thomas Dodge. They have always done good work for me, but they are pricey.

Up the road a few hours, but note sig... Check out Performance Transmission - Las Vegas, Nevada - Domestic and import transmission service, repair and replacement. he has done quite a few hopped up Cummins trucks, all with great results, just know what you are after beforehand. Tell him I told you to call!

Update

A lot of people at work recomended a small shop north of the airport, the dropped the pan, said the fluid is burnt and transmission needs an overhaul. I believe the TC is still good because it is not that old and it is not over stressed. I am going to have them pull the transmission apart and rebuild it but I want to get the TC checked out. I know there is a place in the basin here that takes apart TC, any one know who it is or have an idea of who it is?
