looking for a good honest transmission shop in the la area. my 96 has a 97 era bd converter installed with a shift kit and heavy duty solenoid and mag hytek first generation oil pan. truck now shudders going into 3rd and o. d.

has about 100k on trans since mods . i believe it will need at least a new converter and more likel;y complete overhaul. engine has tst plate installed. i tow a 10k lb 5th wheel. i would appreciate any recommendations advice

Hell I wish that I could help you, but it is very nice to see someone actually call the thing a transmission, not a FREAKING transmission!
 
two suggestions, the trans shop in el monte, marvin built mine and 50,000 miles later in a bombed truck with 47re and holding. had a hunting prob, took it back and he adjusted it right there. was allso having a cooling issue, so marvin installed a extra cooler no charge. outherwise there is englewood transmission. john at dps uses them and refers people like us to them.

Ditto on Inglewood Transmission's (1-800-868-0053). They installed my SunCoast upgrades (TC & VB). Mike was very helpful & took the time to answer all my questions.
