depends on what you need done. I had a valve body and t/c on mine at WINSPEED 925-370-7245. They sub out any major builds, but install parts.

I was going to use Winspeed, but I went with Browns Diesel instead. Rich is the man to go to, especially if you are using Goerend parts. He will stand behind his work better then anyone I know. He's a little drive, but he's well worth it.

J&H Performance up in Redding is the best in my book--- Joel has been doing trannies for many years and knows his stuff concerning trannies. . they are in Redding

www.jandhperformance.com

winspeed also gets my vote as being a quality shop, but like stated they ship out for major stuff, but still they are good---they are in Martinez

Reb gets good reviews all the time also...

Well, I went with Ken Imler Diesel in Sacramento for a transmission upgrade. He deals with BD Performance. After talking to him. I went with a T/C, V/B & Deep Pan. Price wasn't to bad either ($2,800 w/ labor). I could of went with a transmission shop 20 mins. closer that deals with Suncoast, but he isn't a authorize dealer through Suncoast ( gut feeling says " don't touch my transmission").

Is BD Perf. a good quality Co. ? I have heard of them by mouth and a little on these forums. I been reading alot about other Co's (ATS, DTT, Suncoast, Goerman & HTS) on this forum and acouple of others. I have not really seen anything bad about BD. Any feed back?

I looked into Browns Diesel and J&H Performance in Redding. It came down to leaving my truck for a couple of days. Both were 250 miles away from were I live. Ken Imler Diesel in Sac, I have places to stay there. Plus he was good to talk to. Seems very knowledgable (sp?). He came recommended from a respected sled puller (besides J&H Performance and Windspeed).

As I stated in my post above. I have heard of BD Perf. and I have heard nothing bad or good from many forums. If someone here has or had BD transmission parts from them. Were you happy?

I don't have BD transmission parts, but I have other products from BD and I've never had any problems with them. My next door neighbor has had a BD transmission in his '97 for years with zero problems. I met another guy in SoCal a couple years ago who had a BD transmission and had tons of problems with it. Maybe just luck of the draw!? Since I've been a member here I've read countless threads on "trannies''. Seems every company has stories of good and bad except one. I cannot recall ever reading about someone who has had problems with or is not satisfied with their Goerend transmission. They have the best warranty if parts are ever needed and no questions are ever asked.

I highly recommend talking to Richard again. I wish I could go back and do it over again, my bank account would be a lot bigger. My first three trannies were from a known company, had problems over and over again and left me stranded numerous times on the shoulder of the road. While broke down traveling thru California I finally called Richard and he hooked me up with a transmission that has performed flawlessly. I tow heavy and beat the ***** out of this thing and it just keeps going.

If you have the time, do some searching around on here and read as many threads on trannies as you can. This is a huge amount of money to fork out to end up not satisfied. Which ever route you take I wish you many trouble free miles. :D

I went with Imler Diesel and won't go anywhere else. He's been dealing with BD for years. He also does a lot of beta testing for other manufacturer's. Service is great and he stands behind everything. He also does the majority of work on Nick D'Amico's Duramax that won the Diesel Power West HP shootout. I highly recommend him.

JandH diesel is great people and build great transmissions! Joel is Awesome! Dont use Opie/innovative engineering shafts! Steve
