Does anyone know of a reputable transmission shop in the Dover, DE area?

I'll be home Christmas time and think it's time to get the transmission looked at. 65mph I'm taching 2000rpm, when I accelerate up to say 80 so I can pass someone the rpms flash to 2500 and the trans howls for the next couple of minutes before quieting down. Also does the howling thing when leaving a stop light (moderate acceleration, 650-700 on the egt), and flashes to 1800 rpm.

TIA

Ummm, Tom? If'n you want to be in Delaware for Christmas, maybe you oughta be lookin for a good shop in Illinois??

Not sure of a place in dover, but there is a place in Bear off of Old Baltimore Pike... i think its Deltrans. There pretty well known.

Phil,

Unfortunately the person holding the purse strings is in DE. I think/hope if I take it easy I should make it without any problems, the mountains are the biggest concern. I'll be the pick-up putting along behind the semis in the slow lane.

Bob,

Thanks for the info, I'll look them up.

Tom,

If you're coming through the Lexington, Va. area (where 64 meets 81) and have trouble, give me a call. I'm 90 minutes south of there. I'll PM you my phone number. There is a great shop in Christiansburg, AA Transmission (no they're not alcoholics... . I think).
