Transmission slip guage, anyone know how to make one?

I know the Edge Juice/Attitude can detect TC and/or clutch slip so there has to be a way to make a DIY light that comes on when it's slipping. Anyone with the knowledge care to share? I would like to make one for my truck. Is it possible?

Its possible if you like to play with electronics. Compare engine revs (CPS sensor) to trans output shaft (trans speed sensor), remember to flip to a different set of parameters when OD engages, remember to only monitor when TC is locked, and wire to an LED that lights when it is out of range.



Thats the simple version and your on your way.

Any low priced products out there that monitor transmission slip. The Edge Juice/Attitude does and I think Banks has it in there setup. I don't want to spend that much money or need those type of product since the Smarty Jr. is all the power upgrade I need.

I would think monitoring the trans temp guage would do it. A slipping trans will build heat quicker causing a sudden rise in temp

The only problem with that option is the damage would already have been created by the time the temps were high enough.

A red light on the dash would be instantanious and you could back out of the throttle immediately.
