This happened to me twice this past week. While making a left turn at a stop light, about mid turn when I'm starting to acclerate through the turn, I hear the engine rev and no power to the rear wheels for about two seconds. What the hell?? Torque converter slipping? I've never experienced this at a straight start. The truck has about 40k miles on it.

Any ideas?

It has happened on my 99 only on accelerating left hand turns. I believe the fuild intake is sucking air for a short time causing this. I added a double deep trans pan and have not had a repeat of the problem. :D

The level was a bit low. I added some fluid so I will keep a watch on it for the next few days.

The interesting thing is I just had the transmission serviced about a month ago at the dealer. Seems like the tech wasn't paying attention and left the level low.

Thanks

remember to check the fluid when it is hot and on level ground in neutral.

Some also check the fluid in drive, if you do make sure you chock the wheels and set the emergency brake.

The slipping problem hasn't happened since I leveled off the fluid.

The fluid level didn't even occur to me since I just had the trany serviced. Ya just can't trust anybody.
