Hey folks got a question. I need to remove the tired old 175k mile 727 to replace my rear main seal in my '90 2WD. I have a line on a used NV4500 from a '94. What is involved in *this* swap? I've read some old posts about swapping, but mostly folks talk about swapping from the Getrag. Will this be too much of a PITA? Finding the clutch pedals/linkage donor shouldnt be too hard and I'm somewhat good at welding/fabricating, but seriously how much would be involved? I can get the driveshaft from the '94, as well as the crossmember. What else would I be looking at? It's a 2WD transmission.

Thanks for the help, I really want a stick shift!

On the Cummins/Stick they use a master cyc & slave cyc. instead of mechanical linkage. As for the petals, they bolt in. on your 1990 truck most of the conversion should be bolt on. Don't forget to loop back the neutral safety on the transmission wiring harness.

It is a bolt in except for the crossmember. I got a adapter bellhousing from Blue chip. (dont forget to check and see if the barring tool goes in the hole to turn over the motor). I changed completely to the big joints of the 94 up. I had to lower a transmission mount from a donor 90 model auto about two inches to line it all up.
