There are a bunch of transmission lockup controllers out there - from a simple manual switch to fully programmable computers. For exhaust brake usage and towing, what are some of you using and what is really necessary? For instance, anyone have experience with the BD towloc vs. the torqloc? Is the added functionality and complexity really needed? Thanks for your experienced replies.

I have the DTT unit and works very well. I especially like the 2nd gear lockup that really helps when driving down to about 18mph through canyons etc. with tight turns and the 5th wheel behind. The DTT I guess is kind of basic as you adust the pots on the face with a screw driver but it does what I need it to do. Since it was installed a few years ago it has not been touched. The two things I really need is reliability and consistanty.

I just posted an Emjay Controller in the classifieds. Works great. Check it out, email or pm me and I'll tell you about it.

Plus a stock transmission DOES NOT have the cooler flow to support an exhaust brake. :)
