Hi everyone,

First post ! I just recieved my Di pricol gauges from TST products, boost, egt, and transmission. I have everything but the transmission sender unit installed. TST recomends installing it in the front servo port. what will that give me for readings as opposed to putting it in the cooloer out line ? Thanks for any replys.

On a related note.....

Anyone out in TDR-land know the part # for the transmission-out line with the fitting in it for the trans temp sender?

I think it was a Dodge part #

TIA

Hi Shovelhead,

Part# 5011244aa, my local stealer wanted $113. 79 thats why I was asking about the servo port. The wife is not happy about spending more money after buying the gauges

I did mine for less than $10

Hey fellas,

I just got through installing my trans temp sending unit in the trans line that comes out of the transmission and goes under and over to the heat exchanger (which is mounted to the side of the engine). Total cost was less than $10. 00 for the compression fittings and the brass "T" from NAPA.

I took the line off (between trans and HE),,,, cut the tubing and installed the "T" - making sure that the line was still the same length as stock. Then reinstalled the line,,,, wired up the sending unit and everything works great. This puts the sending unit in the line about 4" before it goes into the Heat Exchanger. I chose this method because I thought I had read something concerning possible damage to trans by using the servo port, depending on how long the temp probe is or something to that affect. Just my $. 02 :D

Save a mess idea

Hey Ed,

You might want to look for something to stick in the hole when you take the line loose at the trans. I used a rubber cone-shaped plug I keep for such things. Mine didn't leak a drop when I took the line loose from the Heat Exchanger, but the trans hole will keep on pouring unless you plug it. :D I'll be at the Big Rig races next weekend and look forward to meeting everyone.
