Transmission temp guages in Sacramento region

I'm interested in getting a transmission temperature guage installed in my '99 CTD with AT. Have any of you in the Sacramento region had a good experience with a shop in your area? I live in Woodland and have gotten mostly head scratching and a lack of interest at the transmission shops and the parts houses. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Welcome to another Sacto area member. I had my EGT & boost gauges installed at Orangevale Diesel. Dean Rue is a great guy. He comes to TDR events ocassionally.

Why you don't install trans. temp gauge yourself ? Buy from http://www.genogarage.com[/URL/] and install it by yourself. Is very easy to do. M:cool:

In Sacramento go to Ken Imler Diesel. There is also Dean at Orangevale Diesel. Either one of these will be able to set you up. They carry a full line of products for your truck.

transmission temps

Give me a call and we can do it in your driveway. You will need a 1/2" brass 't' with female pipe threads, two male adapters- male pipe to male couplings, two 1/2" compression coupling fittings, some teflon tape and of course... the gauge and sending unit. I can always make time for a TDR member. If you want, I can pick up the fittings for you... it can be kind of confusing at the hardware store when the help there doesn't have a clue what you're doing.

Heck yes, do it yourself. Although I have a manual trans, I installed all of my gauges myself and it was not a problem. That way you can save the install money and spend a few more bucks on better equipment (or more equipment).



I mean you ar already getting offers of help here and even on doing the actual install! You gotta believe you get your moneys worth here.
