Does anyone know at what temp the factory trans temp light goes on?

My trans guage yesterday hit the better side of 250 while towing a 6000 lb plus load up a decent 3 mile incline. The egt's never went past 1100, and I was able to maintain 65 mph no problem. Both the engine and transmisson never skipped a beat, and as soon as the converter locked up the temp dropped back to 170- 180. Just wondering if this is normal? I have the probe mounted in the outlet line to the cooler. I checked the fluid when I got home, and it still looked new. The factory light never went on.

Thanks Mike

Supposedly 260 is the factory temp the light comes on, but that may or may not be what the temp actually is. In addition, that will be pan temp not the temp you were reading. As long you don't run extended times at the high temps the fluid should be fine for the 30k intervals suggested by the owners manual. The fact it dropped right back down as soon as TC locked means all is well. :)

Prior to my DTT, I hit 230 going towards Silverton Co heading uphill towards Molas Pass due to my slow speed behind some truck traffic. My light never came on either.
