When installing a temp sensor in the transmission, mixed advise comes in as to where: Output of torque converter, or bottom of pan.
Experience has tought me that when sensor is in output of torque conv. the temp rapidly climbs off scale when pulling heavy loads up grades. after which, transmission fluid still looked good
Asking advise of other RV (5th wheel) owners, that claim to have no temp problems, I found that their sensors were in the pan. . I hear argruments that one should know the maximum temp as in the torque conv output... . any inputs to this would be appreciated. Most advise is not to let temp exceed 250F any more than necessary. . accurate gauge when in torque converter output has shown over 300F on grades.
