I have a 2001 2500 4x4 with the automatic transmission I installed a BD X Monitor about a week ago , my transmission temp has never gone over 90* does this seem right it usually around 82 when crusing at 2000 rpm.

The onld mod to the truck are a straight exhaust and missing silencer ring.

Temp

First off how cold is it there? To me that sounds kinda low. I could be wrong. Are you running synthetic or regular transmission fluid? It sounds like it isn't even getting to operating temp.

temps. are ranging from the mid 20's to around 40 right know,

It is regular transmission fluid.

Man, I hope I dident get a defictive BD XMonitor, mabey I hooked it up wrong? I better read the directiona again.

Trans Temp

Should run around 100 +- in lockup. In stop & go around 180. If you installed the probe in one of the test ports you won't get an accurate reading.

For the most accurate readings you'll need to put the sensor in the transmission line going to the heat exchanger. DC sells a factory line with a port in it for trans sending units. It sells for about $100 but worth it IMHO.

Ok , The BD x-monitor instructions say to Locate the transmission temp. Monitor wire at the PCM connector on the vehicle.

There is a picture of the PCM and it indicates Pin-1 Violet is the transmission tempereature sensor signal

so i need to connect the green wire from the xmonitor to the violet wire I am pretty shure i did that, cant verrify until the girlfriend gets back with my truck.

Trans Temp

My BAD! I guess I don't know where or how with the BD X-Monitor. With a analog (needle guage) is how I was describing my hook-up. My trans temps posted earlier are however accurate for where I'm pulling my temperature from. Good luck.

One thing I did wrong with my transmission temp sender was using teflon tape thread sealer. Appears that it is also a good electrical isolator which will make your gauge read low or nothing at all.

I also went with a OEM line from a `95 that had the test port built into it. $110 - expensive yes, but worth it IMO.

Trans Temp

With a Autometer Trans Gauge, Synthetic Trans Oil and Temps around 30 ish. Im running about 110 degrees after 30 miles of driving. In the summer highway speeds I run about 150-160 degrees. Have deep Mag- Hytec Pan
