Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Transmission Temperature Guage

I just got a Transmission temp guage, but I didn't get the stuff to hook it up with or any instructions. What do I need, where do I hook it in and whats the best probe to use. My truck is a 95, kdp fixed, 4x4 extended cab, auto transmission. Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated. I also bought pyro and boost guages. Somewhere I have seen a gauge mount that went on bottom of dash in front of 4x4 shifter. Who sells it. Thanks

I'm thinking there is a kit to tee into one of the cooler lines for the transmission temp. Don't hold me to that.
Also don't think I have ever seen a gauge mount like you describe for the lower dash.

You can get almost everything you need from Geno's Garage, if you don't have a catalog here is the link to genosgarage: www.genosgarage



If bought from Geno's you would of got the temp sender/sensor/probe with the gauge. You mite call them and see if they can dig up a temp sender.

Temp sender/sensor/probe usually are brand/model specific.

If it is a Westach Geno's has several you can choose from.

You should of got a Geno's Garage catalog with your TDR magizine.

Your '95 has a 47RH which has the temp port in the cooler line. The responses above are from guys with 47RE transmissions which don't have that port. The installation is simple for a 47RH. Unplug the stock temp sensor. Put a 1K ohm resister (get it at Radio Shack) in the connector on the cable to the temp sensor with each wire in one of the pins. That will tell the PCM that your transmission is warm but not too hot so OD and lockup will work. Then install your transmission temp sender in the port in the cooler line.

They also make ones that attach to the dip stick, and go down the dip stick tube. I'm not sure if thoughs are for mechanical or electric gauges.
