I screwed up big time. I just picked up my Goerand transmission and figured this to be a good time to do the rear main since is was a little damp. I cracked the adapter housing while getting the seal out. Does anyone have one of these? Where can I get one? What am I looking at $$$ wise?

I think he's talking about the part that holds the engine's rear main seal in the end of the block? but, I'm not sure. If this is what you need it's probably best to get at Cummins and they may or may not have in stock. Hopefully one of our TDR Bros may have one they can overnight to you. You could then order @ Cummins and have drop shipped to replace ? ? ?

I am talking to the Aluminum adapter that the barring tool inserts through and also the starter bolts to it.

Is the one on an automatic 4wd from a 97 the same bolt pattern? If so I may have one for sale -if the price was right I'd part with it... ... :D

Actually after trying to pull it out after work tonight it is not the piece I expected. There is the large adapter that bolts to the motor and also bolts to the transmission. Behind that there is a much smaller housing that seams to do nothing more than hold the rear main. This seams to be the one I need? Any idea what this thing is called or better yet a part number?
