Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Transmission Trouble

My Auto transmission Doesnt Want To Shift Into Second Gear On Its Own. If I Rev First Gear And Let Off The Gas Pedal It Will Shift Into Second And This Is The Only Way It Will Shift Into Second. Any Ideas As To What Is Causing This.

Could be several things. One's that come to mind immediatle are; trans throttle cabel out of adjustment (stretched?), solenoid going / already bad? Do you have a shop manual? Could be helpful with instructions on cabel adjustment and how to read solenoids. I'm sure someone else will chime in soon.
