I've been driving my Porsche 944 Turbo around quite a bit since completing an exhorbitantly expensive 9-month rebuild project. Naturally, I want my truck to be faster too, and all this driving for the last year without a BOMB is making me itchy.

My truck has the auto transmission and 4. 10 gears. I want to do some serious upgrades, and realize I need serious transmission upgrade to handle the added power. I'm thinking about DD Stage II's and one of the boost boxes, with a boost elbow fix.

Any recommendations for a transmission shop near Maryland that has experience with these trucks? The truck runs great and the transmission has been working fine. I'm hesitant to take it somewhere if it ain't broke yet. *grin*

Ideas?

Greg

Talk to Bill K 1-800-922-7782

I know Bill would want to find a ATRA approved shop.

Bill will give you honest advice for free.

hammong,
Iceman just had a shop out in Hagerstown install a DTT TC& VB. Look up his post in either products/acc or 24v drive train from 5/4/01. I talked to him Sat for about an hour. He needed some parts installed because of high HP. I'm not sure I need them as I don't plan on the upgrades that his truck has. I'll find out when my stuff comes in. Mine DTT stuff just shipped last Tue. , so I'm trying to figure my options too. I live about 20 mi west of Balt. I've thought about doing it myself. I have a garage. If two guys can do it a day, then we ought to be able do both trucks in a weekend. Might need to check my math though, never was a strong point of mine. lol
Groundpounder, what's your status?

Hagerstown is a little more than a hour away from here - not too far to drive for quality work! How much labor did it cost to have the TC and VB replaced? How long did it take? I would probably have to leave the truck there over night - finding somebody to help with a round-trip might be tough.

Hammong,

I am having a DTT vb and tc installed later this month at a shop in Lebanon PA (about 11/2 hours from Baltimore). I have used this shop before with excellent results (though not for my Ram). `The owner and Bill K. have talked and it looks like things should go well. I would be happy to send you an email on the work once it is complete and everything is tested... .

Doug S.
