I had my transmission upgraded yesterday by our own Midwestern "Guru", Dave Goerend. If there is a better TC and VB, you can't prove it by me. I'll post more details over in the Products forum. #ad
BTW, my lockup clutch was fried, the cover was burned blue and when Dave cut open the old converter the clutch surface was scored and the inside lockup surface on the cover was scored. There was a small piece of metal showing through the lining in one spot. Dave said I brought it in just in time, a little longer and it could have destroyed itself and caused major problems with all the debris in the cooler.

You got that right Adam. He spent several hours doing my valve body just the way I wanted it. He could have gone faster but he would point to a hole he drilled or a valve he changed and explain in detail what effect that change would have. He also upgraded several seals and a large snap ring inside the transmission and explained in detail exactly how the bands should be adjusted and what happens if they are too tight or too loose. I never really understood the internals of my transmission before, exactly how things sequenced and so forth. I have a really good understanding now and although I am not ready to tear mine apart I'm sure I could do a much better job of problem identification. Dave's shop closes at 5:00 PM. At that time he was not finished. Since I was close to 200 miles from home and would have to stay in a motel, Dave kept one of his employee's along with himself and stayed well past 7:30 PM just to ensure everything was perfect and I could head home. What a guy! He would have saved an hour or two if he hadn't taken the time to explain everything and let me closely watch it all but then I wouldn't have gained all the knowledge I did yesterday.

Bob, he does not rate the efficiency per my post in the product section. He does have standards that he could compare to other converters if converter manufacturers adhered to a common standard. As far as I know they don't. Check my other post...

Would you email me aprox. what something like this might cost? Im gonna buy a wreck to put in to suburban and want to have the auto trans rebuilt for reliab ilty. Would like the trany to live as long as the 12v.
