I have read a lot of previous posts about transmissions and think I understand what I need but would like to ask anyway.

91,000 highway miles with stock motor and very little towing of light trailers (6500 lbs). Trans fluid and filter were clean at 90,000 mile top down fluid/filter change. Seems to be just fine. Plan on adding an edge and RV 275 injectors soon. I want to be proactive and upgrade the transmission first. Like the DTT setup but wonder if just a converter and valve body will do the trick or if more extensive mods would be needed. Would rather spend a little more and only do the job once but don't like throwing money away when I have a perfectly good transmission now. Also I have had bad luck with Auto trannies in the past so I would like to have someone else do the work. I live about 1 hour from York PA and Baltimore MD. Are there any recomended shops in the general area. Not dead set on DTT either am open to other suggestions. Hope this doesn't cause trouble. I need to upgrade soon because my Brother in law just bought a Dura max and needs humbling.

Thanks

transmission

I upgraded to the DTT transmission a year go. Did the full 89 % upgrade. Like you I wanted my done. I emailed DTT and ask if they had a service guy around me. Baker Diesel in Utah was recommended. I pull and 8500 lb boat over a lot of 6 an 8% grade mountain passes. I am very happy with the result. I also run the Edge EZ but pulled the injectors. Didnt like the smoke. But man it did make power. From my experiance I would do it again with DTT

tractorface,

Most will tell you that at 90,000 miles a complete rebuild should be done.

There are other manufacturers of after market auto tranmission parts.

Suncoast makes the proloc and is a real nice setup.

ATS makes a real nice setup.

bd-power makes a nice setup.

If your set on DTT products there is an installer out in your area that goes by the company name of Massdiesel. I have dealt with him in the past and he is a very upstanding person, honest, and reliable. \

search the web for the above companies and you cann't go wrong on any of them.

I just had Massdiesel add some DTT goodies to my truck. Could not be happier with the service or the DTT.

Got mine rebuilt at 80K and I'm really happy with it. I got the whole thing including billet shaft and hub. If you don't plan on major power upgrades you don't need the billet stuff but I would definnetly get the master kit(clutch upgrade). JMO
