Southbend clutch rocks!!!

sps62 drive pressure readings!

Hey all. I am looking for some guidance on transmission upgrades. I do not want to start a transmission war here, just looking for some infromation on what I need to keep me running and keep my truck out of the bay.

I have a Smarty and twins on my truck, but I have never really used the power the engine is capable of as this is my daily driver and I do not want to send my truck for an "unexpected" transmission upgrade. I know I should have probably done the transmission and TC upgrades first, but the other two were cheap and easy. Now I am left staring at them wondering what my truck can really do. :{

My question is this: With the upgrades I have (and a plan for injectors and ringing the head) what transmission upgrades would leave me with a truck that I can use all of it's power and not worry about blowing the transmission?

Any help here would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance. ;)

a built transmission from NADP. HTS, or suncoast is my advice to you . all make very good trannies.

I did just tc vb along with flex plate and input shaft. but my trans was "fresh" mods were done to the trans before I added power. I tow heavy, over the manufactures gcwr. I don't tow with full power that the truck has, just full power when empty. I run tst with smarty and stock injectors. My twins have blow off valves set at 65 psi to save the stock head gask. stock head bolts also. truck has 48k now most miles above 450 rwhp.

If you have already smoked the stock convertor then get the whole trans. done. If you have been nice to it then just do the tc and vb. and keep your eye on it. If you like locked to locked shifts then get the billet flex plate and at least the input shaft. If you want to do full boost launches then also get the billet intermediate and output shafts.

Well said, good advise :)

You forgot to mention Dave Goerend. Goerend Transmissions. Call them all and talk to them. I can say that I have had zero issues with my GB transmission and I have trashed several other components, (twisted driveshafts, broke a dana 80, several ujoints and the transmission keeps on ticking.
