Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) transmission wont go into park.

My transmission is not shifting into 2nd from first unless let off the throttle. I am going to do fluid,filter and band adjustment. Now it won't go into park. Any idea's.

well i took off the transmission pan on sat. and I found why the truck wouldnt go into park. the front band broke and jammed it. transmission was shot. New heavy duty rebuild 3500 dollars.

Did you have a local shop do the rebuild? What kind of mileage did you have on it?

The truck had 140,000 and I was recomended this shop by a diesel mechanic at my work. Its a local shop hear in San Diego.
