What mods(bombing)are you guys doing on your transmissions?

I have read a lot about DTT,ok, what else can be done that works? Shift kit? Heavy duty TC? I am not interrested in the lockup of the TC by a switch, I read if you forget to turn the switch off the truck can stall at a stop. What are you A/T guys doing on the local level( local trans shops) and are you happy with the results?

I know this is a lot of questions but,I think I am not alone with this couriosity.

JSmith,

DTT is about a 40 hour drive from me and I still have one of their transmissions. DTT will call your local transmission shop and talk with them about installing their VB and TC in your truck.

Although, I don't trust my local guys as far as I can throw them. Most have no earthly idea what it takes to handle 300+ angry cummins horses.

If you don't go with DTT, go with someone who has a great deal of DIESEL experience.

Saving a few hundred dollars on a local guy, can come back to haunt you if your transmission doesn't last. It will end up costing you a lot more.

Good luck!

I drove up to dtt also. I live on satl lake city, utah so it wasn't a way huge deal, but it still took me about 21 hrs (75 the whole way). But it was well worth it. I know that it was done right and Bill and his crew where way cool and the trip was way fun. It is just beatiful up in B. C. . I loved every minute of the drive (especially on the way back) and when I got home I still wanted to keep driving! Do what is best for you, but if you don't go up there then make dam sure you find some one that absolutely knows what they are doing. I was up there when someone took their truck to BD to have DTT stuff installed and they screwed it up so bad that it took Bill, Daren, and Vinnie two days to put it back together right. Good luck.
