When my truck is lockup and under a load, I get a vibrating or chattering when I excellerate. It does not matter if I'm in OD or not. I check the trans fluid and it smelled burnt and it was a yellowish color. I had the transmission flushed and replaced the filter... Since then it hasn't changed in color, but it still continues to chatter under load. Is it my transmission going out? :( Your help would be appreciated. Thanks

mine started doing the same thing after hooked onto a 35' fifth wheel rv trailer. my fluid didn't smell or look burnt, i took it to my transmission mechanic and he thought it may be a broken spring that is a common problem with them apparently. he figured a shift kit would help as he felt it was shifting slowly as well. had him put the kit in and set up it for hauling (harder shifts). the problem did go away for a while put it has since come back but not as bad. i haven't gone back to talk to him about it yet.

Thanks for the advice. We have a DTT rep real close... So I've talked to him, but going all out does cost some money. Not sure if I need all of that billit stuff.

Did it chatter before the fluid flush? If it didn't, they probably stuck Dexron 3 in, instead of the ATF+3 that it is supposed to be. Turning the line pressure up will help you some. Still may be on borrowed time.

I had the same problem when I bought the truck. It doesn't eliminate it, just can't feel it. I could still slip the transmission, when the engine was bone stock. With the new transmission, it is rock solid. NO slippage at all. :D I don't have any billet in my new trans. For what I use my truck for, don't need any.
