Changed oil and filters in my 68RFE at 54,000 mi. Took it for a drive about 50 miles to warm up the transmission and recheck levels. Added about half a quart. I noticed when i pulled dipstick there is a real strong odor, not burnt smelling, just a strong odor that i could smell even when i stepped away from trk. It wasnt there when I initially raised the hood, only after i pull the dip stick. Runs and shifts fine. Anyone experience this?

I've noticed this with new lube the odor is quite strong sometimes. I had got some Cat brand 15-40 years ago that really had a strange strong odor each time I'd stop the heater would draw it in to the cab. nasty smelling stuff.
