:{ I have a quick question. My husband drives a 97 Dodge 3/4 ton 4x4 diesel 5 spd, we fixing to put our 3rd re-built transmission in it within 9,000 miles. Is it possible it might be the input shaft, or output shaft, or something else in the bellhousing? It is eating the gears on the top shaft. Now, we are thinking about putting a whole new transmission in it instead of re-building this one. What is your opinion on the info that we have given you? Any input will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks you,

Carissa Hewitt

:p The bellhousing could be machined off center , causing the input shaft to be in a bind... this can be checked out with a dial indicator with transmission out... :D  :p ;) :D
