My son has a 91 350 4x4 and it has a 727 transmission in it. Make a long story short we need another transmission that can be rebuilt and put in his truck. Anyone have any ideas. I appreciate any and all responses.

Thanks

CJ

You need to shop around and get yourself the newer version of the 727. The transmission in the later 1st Gens has OD. You are looking for an A518 or 47RH transmission.

Cmon man, with the money you make plowing with THE SNOW BUDDAH you should buy him a new one... . :-laf... ... . I have some old Dodge parts at my barn and the Buddahs lair, maybe I could help out with other stuff..... what else you need. . :D

There is a reference to some used vehicle/parts supplier on the board somewere... . I'll try to find it for you and put up a link to it...

Any of you other guys remember were the thread was... it had reference to all sorts of used/wrecked 1st Gens if I remember right... .

Dodge wants a good $$ for a "new" (rebuilt) unit.

If you're serious about your transmission, try DTT :

Hey Guys, I just found a Junk yard in northern Wisconsin that has a bunch of Dodge Trucks with Cummins being parted out. The guy to talk to is named Paul, he told me that he has Cummins trucks from 1989 to 2001. I just bought a couple parts off a "early 91" and Paul seems to know what he is talking about. They will ship COD or take credit cards. To me this is a big deal, I have been looking for "used" Cummins parts for a couple of years. Their phone number is 1-800-338-4002.

CJ,

I've got the original A 518 sitting ing in my shop that i pulled out of my truck back in 98, it was running when i removed it but could use new bands and cluches, i'll get rid of it real cheep just to get it out of the shop, PM or Email me if interested.
