 Transmission started shifting hard last week. Then this weekend on a trip it would not shift down. Had to stop the truck to get it in first. Limped it the 100 miles home. It will upshift, but will not down shift.

I'd check the kickdown/throttle valve cable and make sure it isn't broken, disconnected, or way out of adjustment. If that checks out okay there is probably an internal problem, and will probably require taking it to a transmission shop. Stick to a locally owned, independent shop instead of the chain stores - you'll get a much better job at a better price.

Any new strange noises in the trans?

When you try to downshift will it just not go into gear or ????

Is the clutch disengaging all the way? Possibility the clutch slave cylinder going bad?

Leg reach floor.

BushWakr - legs reach floor.

Seems not to be dis-engaging totally. No noise or slipping.

Have checked the fluid and will check the mounting bolts. Look at the slave cylinder and it did not look loose.

If the fluid is not low the clutch system may just be tango uniform. If everything looks good and tight it is probably time for some parts. Good luck.

Sheesh Bob!! Slow day at the office or are you still looking for that
