I changed the clutch on my 2006. I cant get the transmmission in the last

1" 5/8. before the trans is home. Everything is lined up fine but it will not go home. Do you guys think the input shaft is in the clutch and I could hook up the clutch and take the pressure off or do I need to get it in further. Any ideas would be great. I fear I'm out to far with the input shaft and pushing the clutch will take it out of alingment worse. Any suggestions? Jeff

The G56 transmission and clutch can be installed several different ways. It would help to know which approach you are using and are you installing an original type system or an aftermarket.

Before someone challenges my statement about several different installation methods, after you have done a G56, you'll see. The easiest route with these is to R&R them like it is an auto.

Mike, tell us what approach you are using and possibly we can offer more advice.

Jeff. If you will get a bolt started on each side top and bottom make sure that the trany and transfercase is in gear and try moveing the trany input shaft by moveing it by the yolk on the transfercase. each time u do this the trany should move up alittle. make sure the trany is the same distance from the motor . You may need to raise or lower your jack each time or change the pitch of the trany front to back ? you can tell when it is lined up even when it is easy to move around. But just start 4 bolts 2 on bottom 2 on top this will keep u from loseing what u gained. what I mean by the distance from motor is the same distance all the way around. this is the most diffacult part of whole job bar none.
