I'm a new member and need some advise. This weekend while pulling our 12K 5er the trany started sliping pritty bad. 220k original trans I guest I can't complain to much. Anyway today I call DP Powers to order a new trany kit. $2640+$995 for the converter+ $500 freight. :--) It going to take a little thinking before I swallow that much. Is their kit really worth-it? Do I have any better options? Any advise would be appriciated

transmission?

I would get a hold of Dave Goerend. Here is daves email address -- email address removed -- Here is his phone number 1-319-778-2719. He does ecelent work on trannies and is very reasonable on prices.

I'm going to order one of his. $2550 plus shipping for a triple disc unit with 100,000 mile warrantee. If you don't need a triple disc clutch, I believe it is about $1950.

Shaw, you don't have a long ride to get to Massachusetts and see Massdiesel. Scott and his crew know there stuff when it comes to wrenching and especially DTT modifications. Everything from mild to wild.

Contact Scott @ Massdiesel.com or call him at 508/528-6127

Massdiesel has had many customers come from down your way.

Good luck

Shaw

I'm VERY pleased with my ATS transmission and T/C and suggest you add them to your list of folks to contact. I think you'll be pleased. I might also suggest you contact Jim Jennings Transmission, they installed it for me. The price is right around what you mentioned including a completely rebuilt transmission, T/C, installation and shipping both ways (must send your old one back). Trust me when i say you'll be amazed at how this thinbg runs! Let me know if you'd like to drive mine to get a feel for it.

Check out this post of mine from from the beginning of this month. Please let me know if i can answer any questions for you.
