I beleave you need to put it in two spots. One in the pan and one in the output line to cooler. Then wire in a switch and switch between the two. I have a 5 speed and monitor the trans, 2 speed and the rearend all on one gauge.

BPINE--- can the microswitch be wired to the existing factory-dash temp guage, or does it have to go to an aftermarket guage, such as in the pillarmount?-- when I do the pyrometer & boost-guage I'd like to reserve the 600+ meter for egt only, and the less-than-350 (hopefully!!) guage for fluids--- rich

In order for this thread to reach the best audience, I'm moving it to the "Product" forum. Please continue it there, and thanks much for participating.

I have mine installed in the TC outlet line before the heat exchanger.

I installed my temp sensor in the transmission return line as suggested by BD (where I bought the gauge). There is a straght section of line that crosses in front of the transmission pan that is perfect for this installation. No leaks and it gives an accurate reading.

Nope won't work on the factory gauge. You can buy a 4 position rotary switch from Mag Hytec. I used a on-on-on mini toggle switch, but you have to put a jumper across two legs to make it work but it turns out nice.
