I'm thinking a few things:

1) 72$ initial cost , how many filter elements included?

2) What is the cost of replacement filters only?

3) Is it really going to filter any better than a Fleetguard stratapore?

4) Will Dodge void my warranty with this thing, especially if they realize I had to put it together?

5) What the heck do you want, a TWO million mile engine? :D

I'll stick with the throw aways, probably cheaper, definately easier, probably filters as good or better, no extra steps at oil change time, and no questions asked if any warranty work is needed.

I can see the benefit of the extra filtering of the auxillary filter systems, but this thing seems like a waste attempting to replace a pretty inexpensive and effective part that already exists.

good point

one question. How many microns does the Fleetguard stratapore filter down to? I want the best filtering I can get. On my 2000 I used a Amsoil by-pass system, but would like to use something a little more convensional on this truck. I run hard and lots of miles, I can't always get my truck in for oil changes in time. I sometimes will run all the way up to 10- 15,000 on one trip and I will not go to a jiffy lube for my oil change.
