Now before you all get any ideas, I'm talking about the type for the trailer. :D I don't have mud flaps on my truck (I know I should but... ) and the front of my aluminumtrailer has really taken a beating from the rocks and gravel coming off the rear wheels. I may put some flaps on but I'm looking for a way to better protect the front and hide the damage already there. I noticed a bra on a trailer going down the road the other day and thought it looked pretty good and would probably do the trick. Does anyone know where I can get one of these and what it costs? Pros/cons or other solutions welcomed.

I wouldn't do it. A friend of mine had one on his & when he took it off to clean it, it had rubbed all the paint off his trailer. I guess from the fact that it flaps around while going down the road. I made a mud flap system that hooks up to my reciever. It cost me around $50 and I welded it up myself. If you make one don't use the rubber flaps as they tend to rip off in time. Use the ridged plastic ones.

I have seen an polished aluminum diamond plate type "bra" on several trailers. I don't think they would have the same issue as the vinyl cloth ones. They look good and you should be able to get one at an RV dealer.

I like the looks of the diamond plate but I think I thought it might be expensive to try and do aftermarket. Also, my dealer said the lightweight aluminum diamond plate they are using gets banged up pretty easy too. Any more thoughts?

Well I guess I think the flaps are the best way to go. Easy to make & no more rock chips or road tar after that.

If you want something attached to the trailer, then just get the part you want covered sprayed with rhino-lining or line-x, etc...
