Planning a drive to Alaska

Plan on picking up a new trailer Saturday but it has Good year tires on it. The dealer said he would put anything I want to replace them, of course I said Michelin xps rib. The size is 235-80R-16. My problem is looking at Michelin's I can't find the same size in the xps rib. What size is compatible with what is on the trailer now? I would like to put the 235-85R16 in load range E on it but think they may be a bit tall. Does someone have access to a conversion chart that can help out? I am afraid of Good year tires on this big of a trailer! I was a manager of a tire shop several years ago but these new sizes kind of throw me. Can someone help?

Take a look here - Michelin XPS Rib

I'll bet the 235/85 will work, but if not, the 245/75 gets you the same 3042 lb load rating and is 1. 4" shorter than the 235/85. Despite its size designation, the 245/75 shows to be 0. 1" narrower in maximum cross-section than the 235/85, so if your wheel widths will handle it, the 245/75 should meet your needs.

Thanks Rusty, The 245 Michelin has an od. of 30. 6 where the good year has 30. 8 od. Revolution per mile is 676 to 673 for the 235-80 size. I think this will be close enough to not affect the way the trailer sits. We will more than likeley see you at Branson this summer but we don't know where we will be camping at yet. Beth's family is renting a condo there for a week so we think we may as well take the trailer.
