What happened to your upgrade?
Lots of problems with Edge especially as they age. I'd cut my losses and buy a Smarty if you want a reliable tuner. Ive now had one for a total of 8 years spanning 2 trucks and have not had one single issue with it.
I'm excited to get my S0-6, (maybe Friday) do you think I'll see a big difference in performance? If I could get faster shifts the truck would be much quicker off the line, do you think the smarty will help the fuel pressure drop delay between shifts? I think that's why its hard to get speedy shifts, the HPCR.That is the high end piece with gauges. If you want just the programmer the SO-6 is cheaper. The extra cost for the Touch just offsets the gauge costs. Top of the line tuner and support without a doubt.
The smarty has a much more aggressive bottom end making more power than the edge I used an edge juice for gauges but it eventually shorted the injector circuits causing a very interesting few minutes on the Vegas strip during rush hour
but I would be running it on the stock program without any mods from it ??? wouldn't it be basically just be reading stuff?Yes sir it did. The edge intercepts and modifies by ting directly into the injector harnesses
It depends on which Edge you have, the programmer that plugs into the data port, or, the one with the harness that plugs into injector harness and sensors.
Even the monitors that plug into the data port can cause a truck to shutdown by shorting out and fouling up the data bus. One of the big reasons why a lot of us simply do not like programmers or monitors that have to stay permanently attached to engine control harnesses and\or the data bus.
