Is the '07 rear (tailgate) clearance lamp different than an '05?

While having my oil changed by Swift Dodge in Sacramento I wandered around, checking out the new CTDs. They had several which were modified from factory configurations. One had a Banks dual exhaust, custom wheels and who knows what else. It also had a sticker price of $52K:eek:

I was a bit surprised to see new trucks being sold with mods similar to those made by some of our members.

My dad's cousin owners a Chevy dealership and a couple years ago they had a new K2500 there that they had installed a bunch of Banks goodies. I don't know what it all had, but I'm sure it had intake, exhaust, chip, and who knows what else. I haven't thought to ask him if they did any more since.

There is actually a market for this kind of thing, buyer wants bad to the bone looking truck with no warranty issues and the mods all rolled into the payment.

Dealers that have this done push through any warranty issues when you bought it that way. You just have to go back to "that" dealer.

Customer- "I have noticed a terrible 'ticking' noise at idle and on the throttle for that last 10,000 miles. "

Dealer- "Must be that Banks exhaust and Banks Six Gun you have on there. I think we'll have to void your warranty. "

Customer- "Are you joking. I bought the truck from this dealership with all those parts installed. How can you void my warranty?"

Dealer- "The Banks system is never meant to be turned on. " Therefore, since you turned in on, I regret to inform you that we're voiding your warranty. "

Highly un-likely IMO.

That dealer could end up on the bad end of a small claims case.

A real world scenario, a relative of mine bought a new D-max with 6" lift & custom wheels and tires. Had to take it back as the rear was unstable and having traction issues. They installed traction bars due to the lift, parts and labor N/C.

Of course the dealer ate the warranty and not GM but thats a Dealers choice when they mod something like that.

I was kinda sorta being very sarcastic. The comment was not meant to be taken literally...
