Don't feel bad, I had my truck 2 months and some idiot went down the wrong way on our street and hit the passagener side with their side mirror. It put a nice grove from the front fender to rear lite on the bed. They ran. I know what your concern is about fixing. I talked to my insurance and the body shop. The front fender was workable with a hammer an dolly. The passagener door had a new skin replaced with DC part. I saw door and receipt from local DC source. The quad door was replaced with new. Bed panel was hammered out. I got the insurance agent and body shop to agree that I could see the work before paint. That way I was able to see that no 1/2 layer of bondo was used. They readly agreeded. They used PPG paint and it matched great. Talk to your body shop and if they're worth their salt, they let you do the same. Good luck.

B. Gill, don't worry man you are safe, didn't happen here in town, Happened to me at work (With our crack security team watching real close of course) yeah right!! Hey we have to meet up some time. Didn't know there were any other tdr guys in ripon.

Smokin Joe, why would they steal a cummins diesel has got me thinking too. You see, i think one of the reasons they may have hit my truck, is that they didn't know it was a diesel. I removed all the badges. perhaps the punks would have moved on to a gasser if they were looking for a joy ride. Or they did know it was a diesel, and knew what the thing was worth. Oh well, can't second guess now.

Sorry to hear about your trouble. Here in the southwest U. S. it is the #1 area for AutoThieves ( especially trucks ). I feel sorry for the next slimebag I catch stealing anyones truck. I do not condone taking the law into your own hands. . But it would be too bad if they get their head caught in the doorjamb while we are waiting for the police to show up!

As for body work. . A door skin is a good fix the important thing is finding a super bodyshop that isn't weeks behind! The best body shop everyone at the dealer and local hotrod clubs recommends said they are running 7 months behind!

My truck has been hit 3 times since I bought it in june.

1st time they had no insurance!
2nd time was hit and run
3rd time . . I don't even want to talk about #ad


The worst part about it all is handing your truck over to someone else for the weeks it always takes the body shop to get the repairs done.
