trim rather than bodywork

I was hoping someone had an answer for my problem. I have a 2001. 5 and I just got a small dent on my tailgate, it's on an area that has a crease so I don't think a suction type puller would work. I've noticed that earlier model trucks have a black trim piece covering the lower area of their tailgates. I figure this would take care of my problem without resorting to body work. Anybody know how this trim is mounted and how much it costs? Thanks for your time and consideration.

Not sure how much the stealer would want for the tailgate trim, but I'm pretty sure it mounts with the double stick tape like the rest of the badges.

ya I have it on my 99. . seems to be on with tape.

I like it cause I have a habit of leaning a box on the bumper against the tailgate. . . . so it's against that black plastic instead of the paint.
