Trip Computer/Mirror

Has anyone tried to add a DC factory trip computer after recieving their truck? Can it be done? What about the auto mirror? Any ideas here?

I thought about doing the same thing you're talking about but ended up installing a Donnelly Electronics self dimming mirror with compass and outside temp display. Install was easy and it has the two features that I would use most on the factory O/H computer. This is the company that provides FoMoCo with mirrors.

How difficult was it to get power to the mirror?

I just ran accessory power from the fuse box up the A-pillar and on top of the headliner to the mirror. You have to remove the sunvisor and pull the headliner loose to run the thermometer sensor wiring anyway. There may even be a way to get power from the little overhead console light power source but I figured since I'd have to run the thermometer wire, I might as well run a new power wire.
